Please be sure to provide your contact information in case of technical issues that may arise prior or during your signing.

What is Knowledge Base Authentication or KBA?
The KBA Quiz helps identify that the person signing is who they say they are. KBA is a quiz about you. It’s made up of questions that are pulled from your public records in the USA. This can be from utility bills, a street you lived on, or a car you owned, the questions are multiple and varied.
You must answer 4 out of 5 questions correctly within 2 (two) minutes in order to pass. The KBA questions can ONLY be compiled from US records. Most countries will not allow any other country to get information on their citizens and/or residents. If there are not enough public records able to be used to generate a quiz for you, you will receive a message that states “you are not eligible for questions” and you may be issued a refund.
Can you notarize for me if I’m not in Washington?
Yes, I can legally notarize signatures on documents for people located in any of the 50 states of the US, as long as I am physically in the state of Washington when I perform the notarization.
Please make sure to ask the receiving party of the documents if they will accept signatures that were notarized online by a Remote Online Notary.
Can you notarize for me if I’m NOT in the United States of America?
Yes, I can legally notarize signatures for people outside of the USA if they have a valid government issued ID and if the documents are related to transactions connected to the USA. I need to be physically in the state of Washington when I notarize the document/s.
Please get in touch with me before you schedule an appointment to be sure that you can pass the Knowledge Base Authentication (KBA) questions (see above). The 5 questions provided to you for your test are from your public records in the USA. If you haven’t had a USA based address since birth, or for most of your life, then there may not be enough information available to put together a list of questions for you. The questions help verify your identity. There are options if you can’t do the KBA questions. Please get in touch with me.
The KBA questions can only be compiled from US public records. Most countries will not allow any other country to get information on their citizens and/or residents.
Please make sure to ask the receiving party of the documents if they will accept signatures that were notarized online by a Remote Online Notary.
Do I need to provide my social security number or the last 4 digits?
No*. The Cyberize It platform used to complete on Online Remote Notarization doesn’t require your social security number to gather information for your Knowledge Base Authentication (KBA) questions. You may include it if you wish, but it is optional.
* The receiving party who will process your documents may require you to provide your Social Security number, or the last 4 digits for their purposes. If so, you may need to provide it. Please confirm this with the receiving party if they may require you to provide this information.
What do I need to have with me to get notarized online or in person?
Always ask the receiving party if they will accept documents with signatures that were notarized online.
Online notarizations can be completed faster with the following:
- A smart phone or computer with a working camera and microphone
- A valid* government issued ID with your signature and picture (ie: Driver’s license, passport,
etc.)
*Government Issued ID can not be expired - Your full, legal name (first and last)
- Your date of birth
- Document(s) filled in. Do NOT sign or date any document as this will invalidate them. Signing and dating needs to be done during your signing session. You can upload your document(s) as a PDF. If you don’t have a PDF file, then you can take a very good picture of the document with your smart phone and send the images to my email address at docs@chasemobilenotary.com and I will convert them to a PDF before your appointment.
Why do I need to take a picture of my ID?
The ID will go through credential analysis. Cyberize It uses special software to help determine fraud. The better quality the picture is, then the more likely it will be accepted.
- You need to take a picture of your ID on a dark background showing all sides of the ID, including the corners.
- Use natural lighting if possible so no reflections or bright spots appear on the ID.
- Don’t use the flash and avoid a glare.
- DO NOT use an application to take a picture of your ID. The software may not process your ID if there are extra words seen in the upload, and ID Credential Analysis may fail.
Are electronic signatures legal?
Yes, they are completely legal. Find out more about the legality of electronic signatures here at Adobe, the worlds most trusted solution for e-signatures.
According to Adobe, “Electronic signatures are legal, trusted, and enforceable in industrialized countries around the world. Laws can vary, but Acrobat Sign makes compliance simple.”
Keep in mind that it is your responsibility to confirm the receiving party of the documents will accept signatures that were notarized online.
How many people can sign during an online transaction?
On the Cyberize It platform, each transaction can have up to 4 (four) people complete the KBA, ID Validation, and document signing.
Does it cost less to use a mobile notary who can meet me in person?
Notary fees are set by the secretary of state or other government official. Online notarization fees are comparable, or even less than mobile notary fees in most states. I’m located in Washington. I set my travels fees for most mobile notary services is $50. For distances exceeding 70 miles one way, fees may increase. View a current list of mobile notary fees here.

What is fingerprinting used for?
Fingerprinting is typically used for obtaining employment with a company you have applied to and the company requires background and/or fingerprinting screening prior to offering employment to a prospective employee. When fingerprinting is required, most prospective employers will provide you, the prospective employee, with a fingerprint card. Depending on the type of employment you are seeking will depend on the type of fingerprint card or service you will need to complete. This will be either Ink, Digital, or LiveScan.
What type of fingerprinting service do you offer?
I offer Ink fingerprinting services*. This is a service done in person with ink. I do provide special wipes, individually packaged for sanitary purposes that will help clean off your fingertips once we have completed your fingerprint session.
*Please check your order to see if you are allowed to complete your fingerprinting with any approved vendor, or if you are required to complete them through the state contracted company. If you do not know, you are welcome to call me directly and we can review your order over the phone to ensure you are guided correctly.
Do you provide Digital Fingerprinting?
Digital fingerprinting is done with a device that does NOT use ink but will print your fingerprints onto your fingerprinting card once completed. I do NOT provide this service at this time. This may be available in the future.
Can you do livescan fingerprints?
No. At this time, the state of Washington allows a limited number of companies to upload LiveScan fingerprints. If you are required to obtain LiveScan fingerprinting, you will need to contact a company that is able to provide this service for you.
Are you approved to do anyone’s fingerprints?
No. Some prospective employers require fingerprints to be done with a state-approved contractor.
Please check your order to see if this is a requirement for you or if you can complete your fingerprints with any approved vendor. If you do not know, you are welcome to call me directly and we can review your order over the phone to ensure you are guided correctly.
What do I do if my fingerprints have been rejected?
If your fingerprinting card has been rejected due to inability to read your prints, please contact me right away to schedule another appointment. I am happy to provide a second fingerprinting appointment at no charge with a rejection letter being provided by the screening company.
